Oak Park

Oak Park, California

Oak Park, CA

For most of us, our town is our window to the world. But it's the reverse for the picturesque city of Oak Park, California. It is stunningly framed by the CoBa Arch, a rock formation that could not provide a better vista of its 5.29 square miles if designed explicitly for that purpose.

A Picture-Perfect Paradise

Glancing through that amazing arch, you see a bustling valley surrounded by hills and mountains. Crisscrossed by silvery streams and awash in endless blue skies, Oak Park is a shimmering oasis of a town nestled deep in the heart of rough and rocky terrain. At one point in its history, a single road would take you to town. But despite its isolation, the area's abundant natural resources and breathtaking beauty have had a magical pull that transcends the ages. Human settlements have existed here since 5500 B.C.

And Moving Pictures, Too

It might feel like paradise for the town's 13,000+ residents, especially considering that some of California's most exciting cities, like Malibu, LA, and Hollywood, are just a short drive away. Oak Park is considered one of the best places to live in Ventura County, and it is not difficult to understand why. The magnificent landscapes may still look familiar even if you don't live here. Oak Park has long been a favorite backdrop for filmmakers. Countless movies have been shot here, including A Walk in the Sun, Back to the Future Part III, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and more. Unsurprisingly, more than 100 cinemas are located within 50 miles of town. And there are many other entertainments here, including some you won't want to leave on the cutting room floor.

Oak Park Entertainments

There is nothing like the Kids World Family Fun Center for families. It is a great place to have a party, and its rides, arcade games, and other play-focused features are truly next-level. If you like escape rooms, you'll love Maze Rooms Escape Room, a Hollywood-worthy experience in Tarzana with elaborate themes that make you feel like you are starring in your own adventure movie.

If your idea of an escape is about getting outdoors instead of unlocking them, Oak Park is overflowing with recreational opportunities. Check out the hiking trails at Oak Canyon Community Park; Eagle View Park has a terrific playground, and the zip line at Valley View Park is fun for kids and adults alike.

Next, how about some great food? The Breakfast Café is everything you could ever want in a classic diner. Baba's Café is the place to go for Mediterranean specialties, and a pizza pie from Tony's never fails to satisfy.

Lastly, if you like to stargaze, the view of the night sky is spectacular. But don't be surprised if you spot something otherworldly lurking amongst the stars. The area is famous for its UFO sightings. (Hey, if we were E.T., we'd also want to drop by Oak Park.)

Terrestrial Concerns
